In 1965 some erstwhile members of the RAD and Cecchetti societies got together to bring together all professional dance teachers under one umbrella, to draw up a code of ethics and provide a platform for various activities for the students of members. As the society grew, various other disciplines were incorporated and now includes Modern, Tap, Greek, National and Spanish. The society has over 200 members countrywide and offers opportunities for dance students to vary their experience in different ways.
