Most Dance shops in South Africa have all the necessary dance wear and shoes for examinations and stage work for all the different dance forms in stock.
This includes leotards, unitards, tights, ballet skirts, character skirts, tutu skirts, Spanish skirts, ballet shoes, ballroom shoes, tap shoes, Spanish shoes and character shoes.

Usually stage make-up and fancy dress costumes are also available, as well as a variety of gifts, cards, books, bags, cross-overs and dance tops.

At some shops one can also buy swimwear and aerobics gear and hire costumes for dance productions or shows.

Props, decor and backdrops can usually be hired from businesses who specialise in the manufacturing of stage equipment.
