The 6 finalists were a balance of Cecchetti and RAD trained students: Gemma French (Henri Noppé), Tannah Levick (Leigh Gresham Levick), Leroy Mokgatle (Art of Motion: Sayward Harris), Ashton Parker (Christian School of the Arts: Karen Beukes/Anneliese Venter), Maymarie van den Heever (Vanessa Bennet) and Caitlin Wostenholm (Christian School of the Arts: Karen Beukes/Anneliese Venter). Hosted at the refurbished Roodepoort Theatre, these aspiring young dancers presented their class which had been arranged by Anya Carstens (Ex-Principal Dancer from Joburg Ballet) to the accompaniment of Jarkie Roos at the piano. Following the class, the finalist solos were performed to music composed by David Howard and arranged by Anya Carstens. The group variation to Four Seasons by Vivaldi and choreographed by Anya Carstens, completed their presentation. The Val Whyte Bursary was adjudicated by Nigel Hannah, Gail Myburgh, Zanelle Wessels, Felicity Haynes and Joyce Myroff.
The Bursary, now in its 24th year, was won by Leroy Mokgatle (Art of Motion: Sayward Harris).
